Achilles tendon
Treatment of diseases of the Achilles tendon
The Achilles tendon connects the calf muscle to the heel bone and is the strongest tendon in our body. If it is injured, problems with walking are to be expected. This can happen, for example, due to a tear or overuse, but also overstretching or diseases such as gout, arthritis or enthesiopathy lead to significant pain in the Achilles tendon. At the Orthopedic Center Munich East, we try to get to the bottom of the cause of the pain and help you become pain-free again.
The term “Achillodynia” summarizes all pain syndromes related to the Achilles tendon: Pain, inflammation, irritation or tearing in and out. To initiate proper treatment, it is important to identify the cause of the pain in the Achilles tendon.
