Experts for sports professionals at the Orthopaedic Center Munich East
Sports medicine is a top priority at the OZMO, so it is no coincidence that professionals from the German national ice hockey teams are treated by the doctors at the OZMO. Since Dr. Balensiefen is the supervising association physician of the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB), the world-class players Nina Kamenik, Jaqueline Janzen and Franziska Busch relied on the expertise of the orthopedic joint specialists Dr. Balensiefen and Dr. Diehl here at the OZMO for their knee or shoulder operations.
After the successful surgeries, the players are fit again for the upcoming Winter Olympics and we wish them every success!
Since January 1997, Dr. Balensiefen has been the supervising physician for the national ice hockey teams. Within the scope of sports medicine activities, he was a member of the Organizing Committee of the Ice Hockey World Championship in Germany in May 2001 as Medical Officer. In March 2006, he was a doctor for the German Olympic team in Turin. He holds the additional designation “sports medicine” and an international diploma for mountain and expedition medicine.
